My current work centres on spheres: planets, moons, explosions. Forms that could be astronomical or catastrophic; sometimes both at once. Working in paint, drawing, printmaking and mixed media, my work moves between the cosmic and the immediate, between scientific imagery and something more visceral. Finality creeps into my work: asteroid impact, falling bombs, apocalyptic imagination. I work increasingly with recycled and offcut materials. Some recent works are made using recycled printer ink applied with a spray bottle, producing a granular, atmospheric quality, not unlike the texture of a telescope image, or an early photograph. I am a painter and mixed media artist based in London. Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, I have studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (2001), the Cyprus College of Art (2002), and the Royal Drawing School, London (2009). I have exhibited in the UK and internationally, and my work is held in the Royal Collection and the collection of Lord and Lady Cavendish.
